They need a replacement console.

A temporary fix until the replacement console is shipped it to use used batteries that have a lower voltage. Or mix a new and old battery. Fresh/New batteries are providing too much current for consoles

The console is 3 volts, you can actually get it to function with just 2 batteries.Just install 2 batteries as circled in red in the attached image and see it that will help.  .
